Wireless Dataloggers Description
The
iRIS 220 Wireless Dataloggers are fully-featured
dataloggers with onboard GPRS modems, providing a
complete wireless datalogging and remote data monitoring
solutions in a single package. The wireless datalogger
software can be customized to suit a variety of specific
applications and the wireless datalogger can be
connected to a wide range of instrumentation. In
addition to the wireless datalogger’s cellular modem,
the iRIS 220 wireless datalogger has an external RS232
port which allows it to be directly connected to a
laptop, PC, intelligent instruments and data radios.
Cellular Modem
The iRIS 220 wireless datalogger includes a high
performance GSM/GPRS modem for remote data acquisition.
This enables high-speed remote data transfer virtually
on demand. Extensive software options have been
included to make the connection scenarios for the
wireless dataloggers very flexible and to minimize data
traffic. Logged data can be retrieved over the Internet
from the wireless datalogger via the internal GPRS
modem. Wireless datalogger data unloads can be
scheduled, triggered by alarm conditions or input
criteria, and solicited by a remote device (e.g.
computer running iLink or HydroTelTM 2000).
Configuration
The iRIS 220 wireless datalogger is configured using
standard terminal software such as HyperTerminalTM. No
special software is required as all menus and
configuration settings are generated and displayed
directly by the wireless datalogger itself.
Configuration can be carried out locally via the RS232
connection or remotely using the cellular GPRS modem in
exactly the same manner.
