ARClite C is more than a C compiler - it is a complete development system for C and assembler. With features like an integrated development environment, assembler-free programming, and an intelligent optimizer, you can develop exceptionally tight and fast code with ease.
The ARClite 8-bit RISC microprocessor is a general purpose, synthesizable processor core designed specifically to be embedded in both ASICs and FPGAs. HI-TECH ARClite C is an industrial-strength ANSI C compiler which takes full advantage of the ARClite microRISC instruction set to produce fast compact code.
Features of the compiler include:
ARClite C can be run entirely from the HI-TECH Professional Development
environment. This environment allows you to manage all of your ARClite microRISC
projects. You can compile, assemble and link your embedded application with a single step.
Optionally, the compiler may be run directly from the command line, allowing you to
compile, assemble and link using one command.

HI-TECH Salvo is a low cost RTOS suitable for single-chip microcontrollers Salvo can help you to implement new designs quickly, enhance functionality using existing resources and improve real-time performance. It allows for multitasking and uses memory efficiently. Salvo will allow you to minimize costs while maximizing reliability with severly limited RAM and ROM. It provides many additional benefits to the development process and the initial cost can be offset by reduced development time and improved performance.
Processors Supported
The ARClite C compiler supports the ARClite 8-bit RISC microprocessor from ARC.
The HI-TECH Professional Development environment (HPD) is not available under UNIX. The compiler is supplied on CD-ROM, with a Quick Start Guide. The User's Guide is provided on the CD-ROM in Acrobat and HTML formats. If you require a printed manual, it can be ordered at the same time as the compiler.
