For industrial grade, 802.11 wireless serial to ethernet converters and wireless ethernet adapters, AirborneDirect™ is the industry leader.

AirborneDirect™ is a family of fully integrated 802.11b wireless LAN bridge and device server products designed specifically to provide wireless LAN and Internet connectivity to industrial, scientific, medical and automotive applications. The highly integrated hardware and software enables plug-and-play capability. This significantly reduces the complexity of wireless system deployment and network connectivity.

The family's industrial grade design (including extended operating temperatures) gives AirborneDirect the reliability and performance demanded in enterprise applications. Other convenient features include compact form factor, low power consumption and advanced security including LEAP, WPA and WEP standard encryption. For OEMs with large installed bases of legacy serial interface equipment, or for systems integrators looking for an easy and inexpensive way to network a wide range of equipment, AirborneDirect is the ideal choice.

The AirborneDirect Wireless Device Server creates a connection between an 802.11b wireless LAN and a device with a serial port. The device server transparently conveys data between the device with RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 interface and a wireless LAN. This enables remote device monitoring and management via the LAN or Internet. The AirborneDirect Wireless Device Servers are all single-port units available with one RS-232 port (ABSE-100D) or one RS-232/422/485 port (ABSE-400D). Also available is a single port RS-232 wireless version that is powered through the serial cable from the host device, and thus does not require an external power supply (ABSE-100D-POC).

The AirborneDirect Wireless Ethernet Bridge creates a connection between an 802.11b wireless LAN and a device with a standard Ethernet port. The Bridge transparently conveys data between a device with a 10 Base T interface and a wireless LAN without drivers or complicated addressing schemes.
